Item Description
2.25" each. These reference the turmoil in San Francisco after Dan White was convicted of voluntary manslaughter for the assassination of Mayor George Moscone and Board of Supervisor member Harvey Milk one of the first openly gay elected officials in the U.S. Originally charged with first degree murder White's conviction on a lesser charge enraged the gay community and set off the most violent reaction by the community since the 1969 Stonewall Riots. Identical except first does not have text reading "Free The May 21St Defendants!" and other red highlights. Buttons feature graphics of a protestor in foreground with raised fist. To the right are more figures including one with a sign that reads "It's Right To Rebel" while at left is a police car labeled "SFPD" that is on fire. Text at bottom left reads "March Committee For Lesbian & Gay Rights L.A." Text at top reads "Stonewall '69/San Francisco '79." Both are very high quality well made buttons and are Essentially Mint. Rare. Comes with 's COA from the Marshall Levin Collection.
