Item Description
Sizes span 7/8" to 4". Seven of these are book plate photo examples beginning on page 198 of the book. The two not in the book are the bottom row 1-1/8" litho reading "Cardinal Juniors Sponsored By The Times." This has about 5% paint loss. The other item is the 1.25" team name button with lightly tanned ribbon below and a dimensional figural celluloid catcher. In row 2 the first two buttons are 1930s each with a metal back and fixed horizontal pin at the top. Both name the maker St. Louis Button Co. The first without text is Exc. with just a tiny air spot on the bird while the second with the team name has the slightest yellow tone to the lower left edge and the tiniest bit of soil on the white background. In row 3 the 1.5" cloth covered button picturing a cardinal has noticeable widely scattered darker age marks. Complete with its St. Louis Button Co. back paper. The unlisted team name button has some very fine scattered scratch marks that catch reflected light. The remaining four buttons not mentioned are all Exc. to Mint. Many rarities. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
