Item Description
First is 1.5" with metal back and horizontal bar pin. Most of reverse metal has layer of brown oxidation. Front of the button has light spots around the perimeter. At center is large numeral "21" which was his player number. This button is pictured on page 62 of the book. Also included is 3.5" full color photo button reading "Roberto Clemente/Pittsburgh Pirates." This has a concave metal back with two tabs holding horizontal pin. Couple of trivial pinpoint rubs show only in reflected light. We believe this button dates to the 1970s and was likely issued shortly after his death in December, 1972 although we are not certain of that. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
