Item Description
See previous item for origin and background. Paper sheet 13 x 16" cut from a 23 x 29" printer's proof sheet provided to Sendak by Harper & Row prior to the publication of the 1971 limited edition boxed set of 500 portfolios titled "Pictures By Maurice Sendak". The image is 4 x 6.5" centered on the lower half of the paper. Unlike the previous item, there is no printed title text on the reverse, but the lithograph shows an image from the book illustrated by Sendak and titled Zlateh The Goat And Other Stories by Isaac Bashevis Singer published in 1966. Sendak signed in black ink below the image "Maurice Sendak". NM. Comes with Hake's COA.
