Item Description
11-3/8x16" high quality stiff paper w/40 pages. Published by Russ Cochran, ©1973 William M. Gaines. Title page is signed in red felt tip pen "For Charlie Roberts - Happy Nightmares! Bill Gaines," Gains adding "5/72" date at top. Below "EC Portfolio Two" title block has been signed in black felt tip pen by Ray Bradbury (who provided many stories to EC in addition to his expansive sci-fi writing career). First story is "Squeeze Play" which was illustrated by the legendary Frank Frazetta, who has boldly signed his name in India ink at lower right of first page, his signature embellished just as it appears on all his art. "The Haunt Of Fear - Air Burst" story has been signed on first page at bottom by Harvey Kurtzman, who added "Hello Charlie Roberts!" inscription before his usual "H. Kurtz" signature w/stick figure representing last part of his name. Jack Davis has signed in red ink beside "The Crypt Of Terror - Let's Play Poison!" story title and has added large pencil sketch of Civil War soldier on inside back cover as well as signing once more. All signatures were obtained in-person during the 1970s, including a visit to the home of Frazetta. Cover has minor dust soiling, o/w Exc. Unique signed piece. Charlie Roberts Collection.
