Item Description
9-7/8x12.75" first edition hardcover w/320 pages and original dustjacket. Published by Publications International, Ltd. ©1991. Book features history of comic books from their beginning up to the early 1990s, w/numerous comic images featured throughout. Inside frontispiece has been signed by comic artists Joe Simon (co-creator of Captain America), Jack Burnley and Creig Flessel, who has signed under DC Comics editor (and the man responsible for buying Superman from Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster) Vincent Sullivan, adding "My First Editor" word balloon w/arrow. Book author and popular culture historian and fiction author Ron Goulart has also signed, adding full color self-portrait cartoon w/"Charlie, Here's Another Autograph For Your Collection" word balloon. Title page has been signed by Zatara creator and "The Durango Kid" artist Fred Guardineer and legendary Silver Age artist Joe Kubert. All have signed in either blue or black ink/felt tip pen, some adding personalized inscriptions and 1992 dates. Some lt. wear to DJ, but o/w Exc. Unique signed book, all signatures were obtained in-person. Charlie Roberts Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
