Pair of 10x13.75" deluxe hardcovers w/dustjackets published by Gerber Publishing Co. Inc. in 1989. First and second volumes contain nearly 22,000 color images of comic book covers in alphabetical/chronological order. Many classic issues are presented here including - "Action Comics" #1, "All-Winners Comics" #1, "Amazing Fantasy" #15, "Batman" #1, "Captain America" #1, "Detective Comics" #27, "Flash Comics" #1, "Mad" #1, "Marvel Comics" #1, "Police Comics" #1, "Sensation Comics" #1, "Showcase" #22, "Superman" #1, "Tales Of Suspense" #39, "Walt Disney's Comics And Stories" #1, "Whiz Comics" #1, "Wonder Woman" #1 and many more. Volume 1 has been signed on frontispiece by total of 16 comic book artists/personalities, including - Vincent Sullivan, Fred Guardineer, Green Lantern creator Mart Nodell (who added Green Lantern sketch in green ink), Gill Fox, Rudy Palais, Fred Schwab (who added sketch of cowboy), Batman creator Bob Kane, Mort Meskin, Aquaman co-creator Paul Norris, Pierce Rice (who added sketch of masked Western bandit), Joe Kubert, E.E. Hibbard, Jack Burnley, Creig Flessel, Harvey Kurtzman (who added self-portrait caricature) and Hoppy the Marvel Bunny creator Chad Grothkopf. All (aside from Nodell, who also signed "Green Lantern '40") have signed in blue or black ink/felt tip pen, most adding personal inscription and 1992 date. Volume 2 has been signed on frontispiece by Captain America co-creator Joe Simon and Irv Novick in blue ink. Some lt. wear to DJs, but o/w VF/Exc. Signatures were obtained in-person. Two of the ultimate photo guides for comics ever published, featuring signatures of a legendary line-up of creators, making this a truly unique pair.
