Item Description
Ornate archival mat contains highly detailed art w/4.75x6.75" India ink image area by Edwin A. Abbey (1852-1911), an American painter and illustrator in the "Golden Age Of Illustration," best known for Victorian and Shakespearean subjects; notably "The Quest Of The Holy Grail." Published in "St. Nicholas Magazine" in Feb. 1875, scene depicts two women seated at table, one painting doll's head as the other files doll head. Lower right corner has been signed "Abbey 1874". Minor aging, o/w Exc. Wonderfully detailed and ready to frame. Schechter Family Collection.
