Item Description
Complete four-page story art for "More Celebrity Garbage" that was published in "Cracked" (no issue indicated, but c. 1980). Similar theme to previous item #1721. Artboards measuring 13.75x17-5/8" w/India ink and ink wash original art by John Severin. Each page is dedicated to single personality. First page features Miss Piggy (who name paste-over came off and has re-adhered to trash can below title paste-over. Her trash includes - letter from NFL assuring that "pigskin" is not actually used to make footballs, "The Golden Trough" restaurant business card, apology letter from Ronald Reagan, award signed by Porky Pig from "Porkus Rind-Us Anti-Defamation League" and bottle of "Miss Piggy's Hogwash Shampoo" w/her image on it. Second page features J.R. Ewing from "Dallas" and includes schedule, "Miss America Beauty Pageant" and "Girl Scouts Of America" letters and letter from graphics company w/enclosed sketches for new Ewing Oil Company logo (including snake, screwball and rat). Third page spoofs The Reagans w/trash including bottles of Geritol and jellybeans alongside Social Security notice, very low number Social Security card, note from Frank Sinatra as well as physician's note concerning Ronald Reagan's legendary naps. Last page features Howard Cosell, including image of him w/noose, bottle of mouthwash, and several references to Cosell's famous large mouth. Each page has inked note at top w/story name/page number. Margins have some editorial notes and some scattered white correctional fluid marks. Pages has some lt. even aging/handling wear but are VF/Exc. overall w/Exc. art. Superb and dense graphics throughout w/much humor.
