Item Description
Al Jaffee is an American cartoonist best-known for his work in the satirical magazine "Mad," including his trademark feature, the "Mad Fold-In." Jaffee remains a regular in the magazine after 60 years and is its longest-running contributor. Jaffee also worked on the "Trump" and "Humbug" satire publications and offered here is Jaffee's original art for page 26 of "Humbug" #7, published Feb. 1958 by Humbug Publishing Co., Inc. 10-1/8x12-3/8" artboard features pen and ink and acrylic paint original art in six panels. Titled "Pain Relief Speed Test On Actual People In Actual Pain" and features man being run over by steamroller, taking aspirin and then feeling better despite being slowly crushed. Another segment features bank robber riddled w/policemen's bullets, being administered Bufferine, and then being cured, bullet holes disappearing. Strip of aged masking tape at top, artboard has even aging w/some lt. corner tip wear. If framed, would display Exc. Comes w/reading copy of the publication this art appears in.
