Item Description
Complete set of five approx. 17x23.75" artboards w/pen and ink w/inkwash original art by Angelo Torres, an American cartoonist and caricaturist whose work has appeared in many comic books, as well as a long-running regular slot in "MAD" Magazine. Story is titled "Hackdraft," and obvious spoof of the popular firefighter film "Backdraft." Art was published in "MAD" Magazine #307 (Dec. 1991). Story features great caricatures of characters played by Robert DeNiro, William Baldwin, Kurt Russell, Donald Sutherland, Rebecca De Mornay and others. References to the actors' previous roles are sprinkled throughout, including Russell holding squirt gun labeled "'Snake' Spritzen" and "Escape From Chicago" as snake wearing eyepatch is at his feet. DeNiro holds pad w/"Raging Bull" written on it, "Bull" crossed out and replaced w/"Fire," Other characters make appearances, including Anthony Hopkins' Hannibal Lecter, Smokey the Bear and Smokey Stover. All dialogue text are printed paste-overs. Bottom of each artboard has story page number/title/issue number. Some lt. scattered aging around some paste-overs, but art is o/w clean and Exc.
