Item Description
18.25x19.25" metal frame contains complete store display of 12 hard plastic lapel pins w/tin backs. Micro-Lite Product by Putnam Products Co. c. 1957. Illustrated display card w/easel back has die-cut cardboard attachment, which gives a three-dimensional feel to rocketing space satellite design w/spaceman image within. Display has some even aging w/creases to die-cut portion and at corners, but upper right perforated corner w/price remains in place. Fine overall. The 12 lapel pins feature a Sputnik-inspired design w/opaque spherical bodies that have tiny spaceman insert within. When strings below "U.S. Space Satellite Patrol" sticker is pulled, this would light up, revealing spaceman within. Celluloid sheet w/space graphics surrounding "satellite" have begun to peel, and a few have small areas of flaking to images. Stickers also have some scattered aging. We assume original batteries remain within. Fine/VF overall. Entire display has been professionally framed under glass in a shadow box style and is ready for display.
