Item Description
Original cardboard box w/wonderfully illustrated lid contains 9" tall tin litho wind-up figure w/built-in key and vinyl head and cape. Made in Japan for the Japanese market by Bullmark, 1970. Depicted is Japanese tokusatsu (any live-action film or TV drama that features considerable use of special effects) hero Moonlight Mask. Created by writer Kohan Kawauchi in 1958, Moonlight Mask is best described as Japan's answer to The Lone Ranger and Batman. Box features character-specific art created in 1970. Box shows heavy and obvious wear w/corner tip wear and .5" spot of surface paper lift at bottom center of lid's main panel. Box has noticeable warping. VG overall, but still nice for display. Figure features reversible cape and head has yellowed slightly w/age. Figure is o/w Exc. and works. Scarce as boxed.
