Item Description
This extensive collection was assembled by APIC member Julie Powell over some 40 years. The collection was on display at the 2016 APIC National Convention in Harrisburg, Pa in July. The collection consists of 87 buttons and one litho tab in all sizes up to 3.5". The buttons largely fill two riker mounts which are each 8x12" plus two riker mounts which are each 12x16". Buttons will be sent in those riker mounts. One of the smaller frames consists of 20 different buttons from the Archie Bunker spoof campaign of 1972. Another small frame includes numerous pieces for either Pat Paulsen or Fonzie. The two larger frames hold a vast assortment of music and entertainment personalities with nearly all including the words "For President." Just a few highlights are: The Beatles, Boy George, Michael Jackson, Springsteen, plus comic characters such as: Ziggy, Fred Flintstone, Buster & Tige, Snoopy, Smurfs, Buckwheat, Linda Lovelace, Curly of the 3 Stooges and many others. Group includes cartoon button of football player/coach with text "Ditka Governor" and this is covered in tiny stain marks but the vast majority of all the other items are Exc. to Mint. An outstanding collection and many buttons that we are seeing here for the first time. Julie Powell Collection.
