Item Description
Lot of four approx. 18x23.5" artboards w/pen and ink original art by Angelo Torres, an American cartoonist and caricaturist whose work has appeared in many comic books, as well as a long-running regular slot in "MAD" Magazine. Story is titled "Double Damp," and obvious spoof of the popular Nickelodeon game show "Double Dare," which often saw its child contestants dosed in slime. Art was published in "MAD" Magazine #282 (Oct. 1988). Story features great caricature of show host Marc Summers w/appearances of writer Dick DeBartolo. Art features contestants and audience throwing various messy foods at Summers and engaging in various arguments amongst themselves as they compete. All dialogue text are printed paste-overs. Bottom of each artboard has story page number/title/issue number. Each artboard has attached vellum overlay w/red areas indicating shading for final publication. Some lt. scattered aging around some paste-overs, but art is o/w clean and Exc.
