Item Description
17.25x22" Craftint artboard w/die-cut stat overlay w/eight openings that nicely frame pen and ink original art (w/screentone shading) by George Woodbridge. Art is titled "Understanding The Referee's Signals" dealing w/football referee going through an assortment of humorous and whimsical call motions, including tripping, wanting two bags of peanuts, climbing goal post as dog mascot barks at him, swallowing whistle, etc. Stat overlay has printed title and captions for each scene. Published in "MAD" Magazine #42 in Nov. 1958. Artboard has stamped notes around art, but this is mostly obscured by overlay. Back of artboard has copyright text stamp. Artboard is evenly aged but art remains clean and Exc.
