Item Description
18-1/8x20" artboard has pen and ink original art by George Woodbridge titled "Hymn Of The Battered Republic" showing beaten and battered bald eagle seated in antique wheelchair, one foot raised and in a cast, a wing in a cast, a bandage on his head and a Purple Heart award pinned to his chest. Various faint letters appear in eagle's shadow. Published in "MAD" Magazine #301 in March 1991. Margins have scattered editorial notations w/some streaks of aging along top margin (not affecting art). Artboard has some lt edge/corner tip wear and is Fine/VF, w/Exc. art. Great satirical content.
