Item Description
Lot of three approx. 19.75x27" thin artboards w/pen and ink and inkwash original art for series of humorous "Get Well Cards" feature by Phil Hahn published in the Jan. 1965 issue of "MAD" magazine. Art was provided by Bob Clarke (1926-2013), an American illustrator best-known for his work w/"MAD." Artboard each feature three or four card designs, including  man seeing three different versions of himself in mirrors (including backwards "MAD" title logo); therapist shaking patient laying on couch casing money to fall out of his pockets; man under giant flashlight; excited man w/sunglasses reflecting woman in bikini; man standing tall on box containing cowering man; man sleepwalking off roof; man hanging on "Lost And Found" coat rack; man searching for something by matchlight w/large can of gas in bkg." (and image made to look like actual match is taped to art). Another particularly nice image is that of White Rock Soda logo Psyche looking at water w/rose in her hand. Artboards have inked editorial notations at bottoms, including features title at bottom of first two. Artboards have some scattered handling wear/aging w/some margin staining, Fine/VF w/Exc. art.
