Item Description
Original photo illustrated cardboard box contains 4.25" tall die-cast metal and plastic figure that holds plastic pickle cart for overall length of 5.5". Made in Japan for the Japanese market by Popy, 1976. Based on the "Ganbare!! Robocon" comedy tokusatsu (any live-action film or TV drama that features considerable use of special effects) series produced by Toei that aired in Japan from Oct. 4, 1974 to March 25, 1977. Robo-Pu has a teapot-shaped head. Toy comes w/sealed bag of accessories including a number of plastic pickles (Robo-Pu is a pickle vendor, noted by his appearance w/pickle on decals on side of cart) and two flags w/Japanese text. As noted by coins depicted on box, toy also comes w/foreign coin and illustrated booklet showing various coins that were evidently randomly included within boxes. Toy also comes w/two full color illustrated catalogs and unused hearts sticker sheet. Robo-Pu wears vinyl apron w/heart decal. There is a button underneath this that when pressed was design to produce the sound of flatulence. Bellows have hardened w/age and this feature no longer works. Box has some corner tip/edge wear and is Fine overall. One plastic handle to Robo-Pu's cart has tiny crack, but o/w contents are NM as packaged w/original foam wrap.
