Item Description
1.75x3.5" candy card from the set of 168 featuring players from the Pacific Coast League. The cards in this set maintain the same format as the 1927-28 set in that the year is expressed in just two digits. This card depicts "Prince" Oana, an outfielder from the San Francisco Seals. Henry "Prince" Oana played professional baseball for 23 years from 1929-51 and played for parts of three seasons in MLB with the Philadelphia Philies in 1934 and then with the Detroit Tigers in 1943 and 1945. He compiled a .308 batting average and a 3.77 ERA in three major league seasons. He was the fourth player of Hawaiian descent to appear in the majors when he debuted with the Phillies. This card is graded 20 Fair 1.5 without coupon and is designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA.
