Item Description

9.25x12-5/8" slipcase w/foil "The Sunday Classic 1943-1946" batsymbol logo contains hardcover book published by DC Comics/Kitchen Sink Press, ©1991. Limited edition of 500 collects the full color "Batman" Sunday page newspaper strips that ran from 1943-1946. This limited edition is also signed by five Golden Batman artists, including his creator Bob Kane and Dick Sprang, Jack Burnley, Charles Paris and Alvin Schwartz, all of whom have since passed on. Black felt tip pen and blue ink signatures appear on bookplate (specially illustrated by Burnley) applied to inside front cover. Bookplate also notes this as an "AP" artist's proof. Additionally, limited edition features sheet of nine trading cards at back, featuring Batman and Robin as well as their villains, supporting cast and batmobile. Cards were designed by Sprang and Peter Poplaski and appeared nowhere else. NM.
