Item Description

7x18-3/8" screentone artboard features two panels of pen and ink original art for Dec. 3, 1968 daily strip w/art by Al Plastino and Whitney Ellsworth. Art shows pirate's "Sea Wolf" submarine being held aloft by "Aquaman's Trained Whales" though Aquaman is not visible. The pirates who have abandoned ship are picked up by Coast Guard ship in second panel. Signed by artists Plastino and Ellsworth in last panel w/Batman creator Bob Kane's name in first panel. NPP, Inc. copyright strip between panels w/"The Ledger Syndicate strip at top of first panel. Top margin has handwritten notation that further mentions Aquaman. This has been crossed out but remains legible. Bottom left margin has trim, but this does not affect art, which remains clean and Exc.
