Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard box contains 2-1/8x3" die-cast metal and plastic toy made in Japan for the Japanese market by Popy, 1976. "UFO Robot Grendizer" was a Super Robot anime/manga created by manga artist Go Nagai. The third entry in the Mazinger trilogy, it was broadcast in Japan from Oct. 5, 1975 to Feb. 27, 1977. The robot's first US appearance was as part of Mattel's famed "Shogun Warriors" toyline, where he was known as Grandizer. Box is complete w/original foam packing and shows some scattered edge/corner tip wear. Fine/VF. Vehicle comes w/Duke Fleed driver figure, who sits on spring-loaded post that ejects figure when metal bumper at front impacts against something. Toy also features pair of spring-loaded missile launchers at sides and flip-down canopy. Comes w/original plastic bag containing plastic missiles. Some lt. dust soiling but o/w NM as packaged.
