Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard box contains 4.5" long die-cast metal and plastic toy w/rubber tires made in Japan for the Japanese market by Popy, 1975. "UFO Robot Grendizer" was a Super Robot anime/manga created by manga artist Go Nagai. The third entry in the Mazinger trilogy, it was broadcast in Japan from Oct. 5, 1975 to Feb. 27, 1977. The robot's first US appearance was as part of Mattel's famed "Shogun Warriors" toyline, where he was known as Grandizer. Box is complete w/original Styrofoam insert and cover and shows scattered edge/corner tip wear. Fine. Vehicle comes w/Duke Fleed driver figure and features four spring-loaded missile launchers, rear pair flip forward w/press of a button at back. Comes w/original plastic bag containing plastic missiles and buzz saw weapons. NM as packaged. Also comes w/illustrated Popy catalog folder.
