Item Description
7-7/8x12.75" stock certificate issued to J. Wesley Allison, dated July 17, 1901 and signed at conclusion in black ink by Thomas A. Edison. Certificate is for 75 shares of common capital stock in the Edison Storage Battery Corporation of New Jersey and was issued for $1,000. Edison was president of the company. See Edison portrait advertising sign #764. Comes w/two attached sheets, one is 1903 notarized document w/typed letter from purchaser noting sale of stock balance. Stock certificate has 1" lower left corner off and some rippling along left. Certificate also has three "Cancelled [sic]" handwritten notations in black ink, one partially over Edison's signature. Fine/VF overall. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
