Item Description
16x20" display features six photos from STS-52, a Space Shuttle mission that used Space Shuttle Columbia (which would be destroyed in 2003, disintegrating during re-entry). Launched Oct. 22, 1992, the mission's primary objectives were deployment of the Laser Geodynamics Satellite II (LAGEOS-II) and operation of the U.S. Microgravity Payload-1 (USMP-1). Some of the ashes of "Star Trek" creator Gene Roddenberry were also carried aboard the orbiter for the duration of the mission. Photos show launch, images of the Shuttle and crew photo. Display also includes 4x4.5" embroidered mission patch that was carried on the flight. Display has been boldly signed in black felt tip pen by all six crew members - James D. Wetherbee, Michael A. Baker, Charles L. Veach, William (Bill) Shepherd, Tamara E. Jernigan and Steven. G. MacLean. Top left has printed label noting "To Troy Stewart - The World's BEST Suit Tech And Strap-per In-ner! - The STS-52 Flight Crew." Lower right of this label has been peeled off, but all text remains. Bottom center has label noting duration of mission and that patch was space flown. Display has some lt. corner tip wear but is o/w Exc. Comes w/Hake's COA and JSA COA.
