See previous item #1490. Pair of approx. 16.5x23" Strathmore artboards w/pen and ink original art for 1959 Sunday pages. Art by Joe Musial is for March 29 and June 21, 1959. Pages feature Hans and Fritz as well as Mama, der Captain and der Inspector. First page features Captain walking w/heavy footsteps, causing Lena's cake to fall. Hans and Fritz set trap for Captain, he walks into and they pour cake ingredients into large pan and w/the help of elephant friend Chumbo, use Captain as a mixer. Second page features Hans and Fritz tricking Mama w/friend inside of an alligator suit, only for Rollo to show up and punch alligator. Mama proceeds to give chase and the boys throw pies in Rollo's face. Both pages have some text correction paste-overs, w/first page having strip of glue staining from missing text strip. Art has some production notations and printing marks along margin as well as some scattered handling wear/dust soiling and moderate aging to margin edges. Pinholes at top corners. Fine overall, but art remains clean and Exc. and would make for nice display if framed.
