Item Description
5-3/8x23" thin artboard w/India ink art by Barney Google creator Billy DeBeck. Art is for April 26, 1930 and features six panels, w/first panel listing names of horses entered in "The Hamburger Stakes." Second panel shows Barney Google speaking to jockey Sunshine, telling him to give Spark Plug some exercise, w/Spark Plug seen running in third panel. Sunshine comes back and informs Barney that he doesn't think Spark Plug is as good as he used to be, resulting in Barney locking him in the closet. DeBeck has signed last panel. Third panel has King Features Syndicate copyright strip. Back has some penciling and front margins have a few pencil notes. Left/right margins have some scattered handling wear w/strip of aging along right margin, but art remains clean and Exc. overall.
