Item Description
14.75x20" artboard w/India ink art by Charles "Doc" Winner, who took over writing/art duties from Harold Knerr upon Knerr's death in 1949. Art features nine panels for March 1, 1953 Sunday page. Art shows Miss Twiddle and Mama Katzenjammer attempting to cure The Captain's baldness w/goose oil. He then lays down for a nap during which Hans and Fritz glue goose feathers to his head. The Captain wakes up, confronts Mama, who then chases Miss Twiddle w/bottle as The Captain rewards Hans and Fritz w/money for ice cream. Winner has signed last panel. Seventh panel has king Features Syndicate, Inc. copyright strip. Back has photoengraver's stamps. Seventh panel has strip of staining from glue (from missing text pasteover). Title pasteover is recent photocopy replacement. Artboard has scattered dust soiling/aging and is Fine overall.
