Item Description
Offered here are items from the 1950 promotion, including 10.5x11.75" to 10.5x14" stats for sign mock-up, produced sign (see item #2227) and negative of sign. Lot also includes sheet w/lead pencil original art for three different ad mats for this promotion, including hand-lettered text reading "Comic Character Hot Iron Transfer In Every Package - Transfer Them To Sweaters, Shirts, Books - Transfer Them To Your Sweater, Handkerchief, Books, Etc." w/each having image of box of Kellogg's Shredded Wheat. Rough examples of the transfers are also pictured, w/Andy Gump and Chester Gump clearly visible. Bottom edge is uneven but art remains clean and Exc. Art comes w/printed ad mat sheet. Lot also includes 11 approx. strips of onionskin paper w/lead and/or colored pencil original art for the transfers themselves. These include - Felix the Cat, Tillie the Toiler and Mac, Snuffy Smith, Jug Haid, Little Annie Rooney, as well as three different lightning bolts, Space Ship and Rocket Ship (which comes w/actual production example of the transfer. Slips are evenly aged w/scattered handling wear; a few having moderate creasing and a few w/thin strips of aged tape at margins. VG to VF overall. An extensive lot featuring several unique pieces. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
