Lot showing a 1950s promotion in progress as presented to potential clients. Pair of 11-5/8x20.75" thin sheets of paper have media prototype original art for sign promoting 1950s "Comic Standups" figures. Both feature art done completely from scratch; one w/art image of package of Wyler's Chicken Noodle Soup and the other w/applied Fla-Vor-Aid label over art bkg. Each has mostly same hand-lettered text, reading "Kids! Free... Comic Standups - Collect These Famous Colorful Comic Standups... Dick Tracy, Orphan Annie, Sandy, Smitty And Many Others... In Full Color! 8 Different Famous Comic Characters In The Series!" Text goes on w/product-specific text, including "One In Every Package Of Wyler's Soup" and "One In Every 12 Pack Of Fla-Vor-Aid." Signs features same art of characters mentioned above at left. Fla-Vor-Aid sheet has "A Creation Of Sam Gold - Premium King" foil crown sticker. Each sheet heavy vertical crease at center w/scattered handling wear. VG/Fine. Comes w/stat for Flavor-Kist Cookies promotion, noting that series including 12 instead of eight as noted on both sheets of art. Unique.
