Item Description
Elaborate prototype w/much mixed media art and extensive hand-lettered text for 1940s Royal Crown Cola premium. 10-3/8x10.5" brown paper envelope has tempura original art illustration and hand-lettered text reading "Here's Your Royal Crown Dating Dial - Rate Your Date - Learn Your Fate!" Some lt. wear/aging but VF/Exc. overall. 10" dia. cardstock/artboard dial has inner cellophane-covered wheel w/mixed media original art, showing cartoon faces of seven young men and woman w/images of pair of couples below. Some text of note includes "What To Talk About - How To Act - What To Do On A Date" w/die-cut window behind that allow for different printed options. This in turn is used w/text on outer rim to rate date into the following categories - "Rough Diamond, Shy Guy, Lily, Fast One, Smoothie, Woman Hater," etc. Some aging to top half of inner dial due to glue w/bottom half having loose cellophane. Outer wheel has some handling creases. Fine overall. Dial comes w/"Here Are Extra Date Rating Charts" folder w/pasted squares for the 24 included (complete but now loose) rating chart stats. While these are loose, they could easily be reglued. Unique. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
