Item Description
6.25x21-1/8" thin artboard w/India ink art by "Alley Oop" creator V.T. Hamlin. Art is for Aug. 8, 1945 daily strip and features three panels. Story takes place aboard a Chinese Junk ship, featuring Alley Oop in first panel (and peeking around corner in last panel), wearing ornate Asian costume. NEA Service, Inc. copyright strip in last panel. Last panel has also been signed in black ink by Hamlin, who has added a personal inscription. Back has large inked date and scheduled stamp w/penciled dates. Front has penciled notation at upper margin. Strip has vertical fold line at center. Pin hole at top left corner. Last panel has scuff above Alley Oop's head and across Hamlin's signature. Art is only slightly affected, displaying VF.
