Item Description
Pair of 3.75x15-5/8" thin artboards w/India ink art (each in three panels) by Barney Google creator Billy DeBeck. Both are from April 1942 and both strips have been signed by DeBeck in last panel as well as having King Features Syndicate copyright strips. Art for April 1 features Snuffy Smith as night watchman on rooftop w/anti-aircraft artillery, only to fall asleep. April 14 strip features Snuffy in helmet w/crowd of soldiers looking at portraits of the "Keep 'Em Happy Club," a club of attractive women. Snuffy states that all photos have women's names and phone numbers on back of photos, causing a riot. Each panel has aged screentone over majority of panels. First strip's art is Exc. Second strip's art is Fine/VF.
