Item Description
Artboard/art paper pair w/mixed media original art for late 1940s Chevrolet promotion involving beanie cap and Chevrolet buttons. 11-5/8x15.75" artboard has prototype original art depicting beanie design w/"Chevrolet" logo at center, flanked by two late 1940s Chevy sedans. Bottom margin has three 1.25" dia. pin designs, each w/"Chevrolet" logo and image of different model Chevy, including one convertible. Artboard has some corner tip wear and shows moderate dust soiling. Fine overall, but art remains clean and Exc. 5.5x8" folder front features image of boy wearing "Chevrolet" beanie w/pins and "It's Fun To Be A Chevrolet Junior Salesman And It's Easy To Earn The Dandy Beanie Cat And Pin-On Buttons All The Kids Are Wearing" hand-lettered text w/outline for missing Chevy sedan paste-over at bottom, which shows some glue staining. Folder opens to 8x11", showcasing additional art of beanie w/art images of buttons. Hand-lettered text notes "You Get This Chevrolet Beanie Cap When You Bring In These Four Signed Cards!" Opposite page features images of sample cards that were given to children to be handed out to prospective Chevy buyers. Button art features hand-lettered text reading "You Can Also Get This Set Of Chevrolet Metal Pin-On Buttons To Decorate Your Beanie Cap - You'll Want The Entire Set of 12 - For Each Signed Prospect Card That You Bring In You Will Receive Two Buttons."
