Item Description
Lot of three glossy paper items distributed to newspaper comic editors to entice them to run the "Mutt & Jeff" comic strip in their paper. ©1966. 17.75x22.5" promotional poster features nice full body images of both Mutt and Jeff, w/reprint of their first comic strip (Nov. 15, 1907) as well as photo of Al Smith, who drew the strip from 1932 until 1980. Folded as issued, poster has wear along fold lines, w/1" split at center. Fine. Comes w/pair of 11x14" single-sided sheets featuring complete "Mutt & Jeff" Sunday page in full color as well as Smith's "Cicero's Cat" accompanying feature. Horizontal fold at center w/some small edge splits, but still clean and VF overall. A rare "Mutt & Jeff" item from later in the strip's run. First we've offered in our 50 years.
