Item Description
6.25x23" thin artboard titled "The Pay Off" in pencil at left margin has India ink original art for Sept. 18, 1934 daily strip. Art features four panels w/Skeezix walking in on Auntie Blossom as she sneaks a bite of roast, asking here "Oh-Oh, Auntie Blossom! Is That On Your Diet?" to which she responds "Now That Was Just Between Us, Wasn't It, Skeezix?" Last panel shows Skeezix walking outside eating a popsicle, likely given as a bribe by Auntie Blossom. Last panel has been signed in ink "King" by creator Frank King, who has also personalized art "Best Wishes To Raymond Temple," adding "Better Late Than Never?" and his full signature. Pin holes at corners and along top margin, w/three panels having pinhole. Vertical creases through last panel w/scattered dust soiling/aging to margins. VG/Fine w/VF/Exc. art.
