Item Description
Reach Official AL (Johnson) baseball has been signed by legendary baseball infielder, manager and coach Rogers Hornsby (1896-1963), who played 23 MLB seasons, playing for the St. Louis Cardinals, New York Giants, Boston Braves, Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Browns. Hornsby was named NL MVP twice, and was a member of one World Series championship team. He was inducted into the Baseball HOF in 1942. Ball is 1926-1927 model, w/text remaining the same as the 1925 model w/exception of the patent stamp on the sweetspot which now reads "Pat'd Mar. 17-25." Hornsby has signed side panel in blue ink. Sweetspot has large Babe Ruth signature in blue ink that has been deemed a clubhouse signature by experts at JSA. Signatures are most likely contemporary to baseball model years of 1926-1927. Ball is well aged and shows some scattered surface wear w/a few tiny spots of aging around Hornsby's signature, which still displays strongly. Nice vintage signed ball for this baseball legend. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
