Item Description
Vintage 4x6" Type 1 photo shows MLB player Stan Coveleski (1889-1984), a pitcher during the 1910s and 1920s who primarily threw the spitball. In 14 seasons in the AL, Coveleski pitched for the Philadelphia Athletics, Cleveland Indians, Washington Senators and New York Yankees. Coveleski was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969. Photo shows him pitching in Indian uniform and has been signed in blue ink. Back has stamped information including Coveleski's name and "Geo. Burke" stamped name/address of famous sports photographer whose work included many of the images used to make the 1933-1935 Goudey baseball cards. Photo has some minor corner foxing and even aging w/tiny spot of staining at lower left margin. Photo is o/w Exc. Comes with Hake's COA and PSA/DNA and JSA LOAs.
