Item Description
15.5x16-3/8" envelope has much mixed media original art on front, showing boy dressed as magician (complete w/fake mustache) and a variety of magic trick items at borders, including "Famous Magic Tricks Manual" at lower right. Envelope features much hand-lettered text, including "Easy Step By Step Instructions For Junior Magicians! Everything You Need To Perform Thrilling Magic Shows" and goes on to list "Gimmicks For 20 Spectacular Tricks! Easily Set Up - No Cutting - No Pasting." Some include - "Cutting Woman In Half, Magic Top Hat, Rabbit Production, Roll Up Monkey Illusion" and more (full list online). Back has hand-lettered "Magic Tricks" at top flap and squares for listing magic tricks to be included within, w/eight tricks listed. Envelope has some scattered dust soiling but is VF overall. Comes w/four16x16" sheets of paper w/pencil mock-ups of punch-out sheets for magic trick components, w/all 20 listed in pencil. Scattered handling wear w/crease across top of each page. VF overall. 13-7/8x16.75" sheet of paper has full color concept art featuring three tricks, each having handwritten label - "Cutting A Woman In Half, Rabbits Out Of Refrigerator Trick, Multiplying Ice Cubes." Vertical fold line along right, barely affecting art/text. Sheet is evenly aged w/some corner tip/margin wear. Fine/VF. 18-5/8x23-7/8" sheet has mixed media original art for "Window Sign" as noted by pencil text at bottom margin. Sign prototype features great image of magician in top hat w/magic wand pointing to "Material For 20 Spectacular Tricks!" Other hand-lettered text includes "Amana Food Freezers" sponsor name and "Boys! Girls! Just Bring Mom Or Dad To Get Yours." Art of tricks is fairly basic, but sawing woman in half and playing cards are clearly visible. Vertical crease at center w/staple holes at corners. Some scattered handling wear. Fine/VF. Back of envelope and bottom right corner of sign prototype has "A Creation Of Sam Gold - Premium King" foil crown stickers. 1950s. Extensive and elaborate, something very unique for the magic collector. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
