Item Description
7-1/8x10-1/8" prototype for proposed Piel's Beer premium book. Covers and inner pages features much original art, all mixed media and featuring various party games, ideas, etc. 1950s. Front cover features Piel's mascots Harry and Bert Piel standing in front of large glass of beer w/ad at bottom for "Piel's Light Beer," showing a can of beer and bottle (though bottle image is unfinished). Hand-lettered text reads "Increase Your Popularity! This Piel's Party Book Tells You How To Win Friends, Etc. Etc..." Harry and Bert appear throughout, w/toasts, historical trivia, comics, "Bert's Party Pointers," ideas for holiday parties, party games and tricks, two-page "International Cook Book" section w/lines provided for recipes from different countries, barbeque tips and more w/back cover have large area for imprint w/"Piel's Party-Fun Award Medals" featuring Harry and Bert to be cut out. One page has "Piel's Light Beer" paste-over beside missing paste-over for beer glass. Back has "A Creation Of Sam Gold - Premium King" foil crown sticker. Some scattered handling wear/aging/dust soiling. Fine/VF overall. A unique item for the breweriana collector. Unusual premium proposal prototype. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
