Item Description
15.5x20" sheet of paper has mixed media original art for prototype sign advertising series of "Comic Character Patches" offered as premiums during the 1950s. Art shows boy and girl w/this full figure patches on their clothes w/images of the character patches at right. These include - Smokey Stover, Smitty, Dick Tracy, Little Orphan Annie, Herby, Sandy and others. Bottom right has indistinct product packages w/hand-lettered text that reads "One Free In Every Package Of." Additional hand-lettered text reads "Patches Stick To Anything! Wear Them On Your Sleeves, T-Shirt, Caps, Dresses, Etc. Decorate Your Play Room Walls, Furniture." Vertical fold at center w/some scattered dust soiling/handling wear, including some paint flakes to "Character text at top center. VF overall. Unique.
