Item Description
2.5x4" miniature comic book featuring mixed media original art on covers and one of more illustrations per page, including several pages featuring only comic panel illustrations. 1940s. Of note, two-page spread features Frank Buck-inspired "From Jungle To The Big Top" jungle scene showing capture of tiger. Another comic story featuring tigers is "Leo And His Big Cats." Two-page spread on how to "Give A Circus Party." Additional features include "Joey Says - Here's The Dope On Circus Talk," equestrian-themed "Patty And Paddy" comics, "Felix" the Clown comic, "Hi-Jinks" clown feature and pages illustrated w/circus animals. Front cover feature clown holding flag w/hand-lettered "Circus Comics" title. Pages features lines for text to come. Back cover features non-distinct ad for product, showing clown holding product package. This concept later morphed into the 1946 "Post Circus Book" premium (see following lots #2191-2192). Book shows some lt. scattered handling wear/dust soiling and is VF overall. Unique. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
