Item Description
5-3/8x12" stiff paper sheet has mixed media original art for shelf talker sign prototype promoting the premium "Sawyer's Circus Book" issued "Free In Each Box Of Sawyer's Sugar Honey Grahams." 1940s. Sign features die-cut feature to top of book image for display purposes. Hand-lettered text notes "16 Pages Packed With Fun!" including games, puzzles, cutouts and party ideas. Art features great clown image pointing to prototype art for book cover featuring a different clown. This cover very closely matches the premium this became, the 1946 "Post Circus Book." This earlier version was pitched to Sawyer's. While touted as having 16 pages (as previous two prototypes - items #2188-2189 - featured), the final premium featured 32 pages. Blank top has "A Creation Of Sam Gold - Premium King" foil crown sticker. Some scattered aging/wear, but VF overall. Unique. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
