Item Description
Original 9x11x3.5" deep illustrated cardboard box contains 9.75" tall die-cast metal and plastic toy made in Japan for the Japanese market by Popy, 1978. Based on the "Tosho Daimos" anime series produced by Sunrise/Toei. Daimos is the third installment of the Robot Romance Trilogy, following "Chodenji Robo Combattler V" and "Chodenji Machine Voltes V." It aired from April 1, 1978 to Jan. 27, 1979. Box has American price sticker on front and is complete w/original Styrofoam insert and cover. Box shows scattered shelf wear and has 3.25" tear at top left corner on box front. Fine overall. Figure can be transformed into "Tranzor" mode, that of a giant truck and back into a giant robot. Daimos' chest opens to fire projectiles and spring-loaded fist also fire. Complete w/multiple sword blades, trident weapon as well as whip/chain weapon. Decals have been neatly applied and all is complete; toy comes w/illustration instruction sheet and full cover Popy "Mini Catalogue" showing this and other toys in the line (including Leopardon from the Japanese "Spider-Man" TV show). Contents are NM as packaged.
