Item Description
16-1/8x19.25" ornate wooden frame contains art paper that has been matted to 6.5x9" and features full color ink and watercolor original art recreation of the cover to classic Donald Duck story "Donald Duck Finds Pirate Gold." Art shows Donald reacting w/delight as Old Yellow Beak the parrot pirate reveals the contents of a overloaded treasure chest. Art has been signed in black ink by Jack Hannah (1913-1994). NM as framed and ready for display. Art also comes w/Gladstone Giant Comic Album Special 1 reprint of the classic story, the inside front cover having been signed by Hannah. Lot also includes personal handwritten note from Hannah to noted collector Charlie Roberts concerning price of $100 for the art and the history behind the story. This is accompanied by two canceled checks from Roberts (dated Aug. 1989 and Nov. 1990), both bearing Hannah's signature on backs.
