Item Description
14x21.75" poster for original Belgian release of the 1957 MGM Sci-Fi film starring Richard Eyer, Philip Abbott and Diane Brewster. Perhaps overshadowing his human co-stars was the second film appearance of Robby the Robot, the Sci-Fi character who stole the show in "Forbidden Planet" the year before. Indeed, Robby's name is largest at the bottom of this poster. According to a subtle backstory, the robot in "The Invisible Boy" is the same character as in "Forbidden Planet," which is set in the 23rd century. Robby is brought back to the era of "The Invisible Boy" through time travel. Poster shows Robby rampaging as army prepares to fight him w/futuristic weaponry and tanks. Poster has horizontal and vertical fold at center. Tax stamp at lower right and blank marquee at top. Poster shows some scattered margin wear w/small tears and some lt. staining to top margin, which has some surface paper lifts from theater paste-over removal. Still Fine overall as main image area remains clean and poster retains vivid color. Would make for nice framed display.
