Item Description
14x35.75" insert poster for the original release of the 1957 MGM Sci-Fi film starring Richard Eyer, Philip Abbott and Diane Brewster. Perhaps overshadowing his human co-stars was the second film appearance of Robby the Robot, the Sci-Fi character who stole the show in "Forbidden Planet" the year before. Indeed, Robby's name is largest at the bottom of this poster. According to a subtle backstory, the robot in "The Invisible Boy" is the same character as in "Forbidden Planet," which is set in the 23rd century. Robby is brought back to the era of "The Invisible Boy" through time travel. Poster shows Robby rampaging w/young boy grasped in his hand as army prepares to fight him w/futuristic weaponry and tanks. Poster has three main horizontal fold lines as issued, w/addition of several others. Moderate margin wear w/.5" to 1" splits/tears. Pin holes at corners. Back has had brown paper tape added to margin edges on back, w/piece added to back of "Invisible" in title because of 1" T-shaped tear. Poster has moderate handling wear and is VG/Fine overall.
