Item Description
Large 11.5x17" four-page herald for the original release of the classic 1956 MGM Sci-Fi film directed by Fred M. Wilcox and starring Walter Pidgeon, Anne Francis, and Leslie Nielsen as well as Robby the Robot, one of the first movie robots that was more than just a mechanical tin can on legs. Front of herald features classic image of Robby the Robot carrying unconscious woman and this was meant to be colored and entered into contest as noted on back of herald, w/suggestion of offering prizes to best examples. Herald was printed by Cato Show Printing Co., Inc. of Cato, NY and interior features photo images/scenes from the film as well as repeated poster image of Robby. Herald has horizontal fold at center and is evenly aged w/slightly darker aging along fold line. Some scattered handling wear but front remains unused and herald is Fine/VF overall. A very unique herald.
