Item Description
6-1/8x20.5" thin artboard w/India ink original art by "Blondie" creator Chic Young. Art is for Aug. 31, 1940 and features four panels, w/Dagwood sleeping on the couch, snoring and keeping Daisy awake. Dagwood wakes in third panel and yells at Daisy for snoring. Daisy is seen walking out of room in last panel, muttering censored curse w/angry look on her face. Young has signed last panel, which also has King Features Syndicate copyright strip. Back has "Ladies Before Gents" title in blue pencil. First three panels have screentone accents that have darkened w/age and last panel has adhesive staining from now missing screentone. Top margin has glue staining that extends almost half way into panels. Fine overall.
